WB Helps Raise Funds for “Coldest Night of the Year”
Last weekend (February 22), Wilson Blanchard volunteers attended two of the “Coldest Night of the Year” events to help raise funds for critical services at local charity partners who serve and support vulnerable families and individuals in the CNOY community.
The event is a moment when tens of thousands of Canadians step outside the warmth and comfort of home and shine a light of welcome and compassion. The Coldest Night of the Year is a “winterrific” family-friendly fundraising walk in support of local charities serving people experiencing hurt, hunger, and homelessness. By walking in the cold, participants feel a hint of the challenge faced by those experiencing homelessness during winter. By fundraising, participants contribute much-needed money to a local charity that is bringing hope and help to people in the community who need support.
Our Hamilton and Niagara office teams combined to volunteer at the Hamilton Mountain event in support of Neighbour to Neighbour, helping to raise $129,746 (as of publication date).
Our Waterloo Regional office team attended the Cambridge area event that supported Urban Hope Ministries and (as of the time of publishing) helped to raise $55,359.
Our Toronto office team is in the process of organizing an event in support of Meals on Wheels to take place at a later date.
Each of these events is part of Wilson Blanchard’s Great Giveback, a charitable initiative based on a 10:4:1 approach, where each office gathers a team of at least 10% of their staff to donate 4 hours of time towards 1 project to help make their community a better place.
Thank you to all of the volunteers for helping to make these events successful and supporting these community initiatives!
